hello,

This has been a major project for the last 2 to 3 months. I am sending this one in for the ISTD (International Society of Typographic Design) exams.
This is supposed to give some basic info about Hypnosis. Note that it is created from a design perspective, not a psychological one.
any comments would be nice...
Remember also that the ending product will result in a Dvd... not meant to be online... for those of you complaining about the size... ;)

cheerio

NOTE: because it was designed as standalone app, this opens sh*t in deviantart... if you like you can download it from
[link]

EDIT!!

hey guys,

thanks for the fantastic comments... i have been so busy on my degree show and finishing up that i did not realise that it is a DD... WOW I am shocked... really...
i come here and i have loads of comments... brilliant..
Yes!! it is true, the intro is based (not completely) on dream theatres regression track on their Metropolis 2 album... sorry i did not add that...
i am thinking about actually releasing this... for therapists to hand out to patients... but it has a long way to go untill then...
gonna upload some photography now... cheerio!!
thanks again

okay I showed my father and he was impressed. He liked the ticking noise it really added a calming effect to the overal presentation. As well as the text helped in absorbing the message rather then something boring and hard to watch. He recognized that it was hypnosis with out me telling him, or showing him the title. and the overall presenation was very effective. What i've noticed in what he does, is he uses a calming music while the presentation is playing. and often he will repeat himself saying to "relax". good work, I didn't expect it to have such an effect on him :D

Nice work, hypnosis is a subject that interests me, but i'm going for a batchlor in general science, and then a masters into chemistry, and hopefully a P.H.D, nice work :D

I'm very impressed! The font is very appropriate for the idea of flowing. Although I usually associate it with clubs/raves, it also has an idea of euphoria behind it that clubs like to give off. Very nice. =)

You should have mentioned who is the author of the words you used.
Dream Theater lyrics.

I've never understood why people would fave something without commenting on it first.

This is amazing! As inductions go, it moves rather quickly, but everything flows well together. And there's more than enough visual interest to keep somebodyŚmeŚwatching until the end of the animation.

If I have a complaint, it's that the view of the map at the end of the animation isn't as legible as I'd've liked; it's very difficult to read it well enough to retrace each of the animation's steps. (I d/l'ed and played the Flash version, as you recommended.) Is a still shot of the entire map available, perhaps?

Congratulations on this having been made a DD. And thank goodness it was, or I might never have come across this otherwise-buried gem. :star:

The text... is that some kind of a standard text, or did you listen to Dream Theaters' Metropolis Part II (Regression [Track 1]) recently? ;p

The only thing that really didn't click with me was the final "zoomed out" view (with the grid overlay). I think it needs something more to denote it as a navigable portion. I didn't get much indication that I could click on the words to bring up more information. Also, I'm not really understanding the purpose of the squares.

Other than that, though, quite slick.

Very smooth, very soothing, very subtle in places and lovingly juxtaposed by the obviousness of what you are scripting. A nice piece, and well worth the wait. What music is that playing over the end by the way?

Well all the pixel art in my gallery corrilates to my site at [link] which is flash. If you look deeper in my gallery you'll see that it's mostly actionscript stuff (a hobby of mine).

Well i have to say that's pretty damn sweet. I love the fluid motion of the animation and i especially love how all the text was merge together specifically the number 10,9,8,7,6.

Great job on this!

I look forward to any more Flash work you produce.
